The Graz University of Technology can look back on 200 years of Science â–ª Passion Technology and its accompanying renewal. It contributes to the sustainable development of society, economy and environment in a responsible way. In its rich tradition the Graz University of Technology claims to excellence in its top fields. These areas of excellence counts among the top 10 European universities. It has a well-balanced relationship between basic and applied research. Over 1400 graduates in winter term 2009/10 and 2.200 staff members make the university a location for technology, science and education, and sees itself as a gateway to Southeastern Europe. As one of 104 institutes the Institute of Logistics Engineering (ITL) has three main fields of application. Design, development and automation of logistic processes and technologies. In each of these areas highly qualified staff members fulfill tasks of research, education and service. In the laboratories of the institute are test benches installed to do power test as well as long term fatigue life tests for various logistical systems supplied by the institutes own workshop floor.
